Pretty Press-on Nails Without Breaking Bank

I have always been obsessed with nail polish. Manicures, nail art, and gel polish have always fascinated me. Another thing I had to give up during the pandemic were my occasional trips to the nail salon. Not a big deal, of course, I couldn’t really paint my nails because of the germs and the virus. Long nails were out. Short, clean, and polished nails are in.

It was about 2021 when I purchased my first set of press-ons from Shein pa. I then bought some from Shopee and from then, I frequented using them because they’re low-maintenance and they were so easy to use. I loved the idea that you could just stick them on with either glue or strong-ass tape, and you’d be set. When you’re going to an event or just want to cover your not-so-pretty-nails, you can just pop them on and then remove them later.

The problem with these sets were their sizes. I have big nails and sometimes the sets are so off with the sizing that they’re in between. Sometimes, they don’t look so pretty.

Then I came across custom press-on nails by Solklaris. The woman behind the press-ons is Yvonne Venenoso, a nursing student who created these nails part-time. I found her on Instagram and Facebook marketplace while looking for nails for an event. I found that she customized nails and had a library of inspiration that clients could choose from.

Being the arte girl I am, I went on ahead asked her a bunch of questions regarding the nails, the fit, the designs, customization, and how to effectively use them. I was so happy that she replied to me with equal enthusiasm and I was able to decide on 6 pieces for myself and 1 for my friend. Each set cost around upwards of 160 pesos. That’s a 20-piece set that is fit for your actual nails. Sulit, diba?

I loved the sets so much I ordered a second time. I got so many compliments and some even believed they were my own nails, just gel. Nope, sticker tabs and fake nails, my friend. That’s the secret.

The best thing about these sets is that they last so long. I used the glue provided and it usually lasts me 5 days and that’s with typing, washing dishes, soaking, washing clothes na ha. If you don’t do much and have events lined up, this is an easy fix. No need to get your nails super damaged with gel polish. No need to get the yellowing of your nails when you’ve been using too much polish. Just pop a sticker on and you’ll get pretty nails.

If you’re interested, message Sol Klaris to book a slot and start a conversation about the design you have in mind. So far, she matches the pegs I’ve sent her. Best part about it is it’s so sulit. Php 160-260 press-ons? Count me in!
