There’s a reason why entering a Watsons store is dangerous.
You go in for one small thing and somehow come out with a haul of essentials you never really thought you needed, but ended up using anyway.
A new sunscreen. Vitamins. Shampoo. Skincare. Maybe a prescription you actually came for. And, if you’re anything like me, probably one more thing that wasn’t on the list but suddenly made perfect sense once you saw it on the shelf.
That familiarity is part of what has made Watsons such a fixture in everyday life. What started as a health and beauty retailer has evolved over 185 years, with Watsons becoming a go-to destination for everything from pharmacy needs to beauty, personal care, and everyday wellness.

And as women’s health conversations continue to expand beyond beauty, Watsons is putting that evolution front and center with its latest women’s health and wellness campaign.
The premise is pretty straightforward: women don’t have one definition of wellness, and what we need changes as we move through different stages of life.
Sometimes that means finding the right vitamins. Sometimes it’s getting a vaccination you’ve been putting off. Sometimes it’s asking a pharmacist a question. And sometimes, yes, it’s just restocking the sunscreen you somehow managed to finish again.
From Pharmacy Runs to Everyday Wellness
This is where Watsons’ idea of women’s wellness gets interesting. Because if you’ve been shopping there for years, health and beauty have probably always existed side by side.
You can pick up prescription or over-the-counter medication in the same place you’re buying skincare. Vitamins and supplements sit alongside personal care products. Watsons also offers free consultations and vaccination services.
It’s less about creating a completely new wellness routine and more about making the things women already need easier to access.
And for a brand that’s been around for 185 years, that evolution makes sense.
Your Pharmacist Might Be Your New Health Bestie
One of Watsons’ latest pushes is its Health Besties concept, which positions pharmacists as an approachable source of health guidance.
The idea is simple: you can ask questions, get guidance, and have someone help you make sense of your options without having to figure everything out on your own.
Sharon Decapia, SAVP for Marketing, PR & Sustainability of Watsons Philippines, says the company recognizes that women’s wellness changes depending on lifestyle, priorities, and stage of life.
“At Watsons, we understand that women’s wellness is personal and constantly evolving.”
And that’s probably the most relatable part of the campaign.
What you needed five years ago might not be what you need now.
And Because This Is Watsons, There Are Rewards
Of course, a Watsons story wouldn’t be complete without talking about the part that makes your next shopping trip a little more exciting.
Watsons Club is celebrating its 8th anniversary, and members can currently find Green Tags across Watsons stores with exclusive rewards and offers.
There’s also an anniversary eRaffle where members earn one entry for every ₱1,000 spent, with the chance to win a three-day, two-night wellness retreat at COMO Shambhala Estate in Ubud, Bali. There are also Watsons e-gift vouchers from Giftaway for 185 winners.
On weekends, members who spend at least ₱1,000 in a single receipt on eligible purchases can also earn 8X Watsons Club Points, whether they shop in-store, through the Watsons App, or at watsons.com.ph.
And until October 21, 2026, Watsons Club members can get 5% off vaccination services.
So yes, there is now another reason to check the Green Tags before you leave with the “one thing” you originally came in for.
185 Years Later, Watsons Is Still Evolving
A.S. Watson’s 185-year history is a long one, but Watsons’ presence in the Philippines is much more recent.
The brand entered the Philippine market in 2002 through a partnership with SM, opening its first stores at SM Megamall and The Podium before expanding across the country. Today, Watsons has more than 1,165 stores in the Philippines, based on company figures from January 2025.
Globally, A.S. Watson Group operates more than 16,900 stores across 30 markets under 12 retail brands.
But the interesting part of that history isn’t really the number of stores.
It’s how a place we might casually think of as the pharmacy has become part of how people shop for health, beauty, and personal care.
For women especially, those categories have always overlapped.
The things we use to care for our skin, manage our health, maintain our routines, and simply feel a little more like ourselves don’t always fit neatly into separate boxes.
Watsons seems to be leaning into that reality.
Wellness Looks Different on Everyone
There isn’t one checklist for being well.

For some women, it’s finally getting a health concern checked. For others, it’s making time for exercise, staying on top of preventive care, or simply having the products and services they need within easy reach.
Watsons’ latest women’s health and wellness campaign brings those different needs together through its health offerings, Health Besties, beauty and personal care products, and Watsons Club benefits.
Which brings us back to the Watsons haul.
Maybe the reason we keep leaving with more than we planned isn’t just because there are too many tempting things on the shelves.
It’s because, somewhere along the way, Watsons became the place where we pick up a little bit of everything that helps us take care of ourselves.
And after 185 years, that seems like a pretty fitting evolution.
