If you’ve ever searched where to eat in Davao, chances are you’ve come across Floury at least once.
I’ve passed by it more times than I can count. It’s one of those places that keeps showing up—on your feed, in conversations, in those “we should try this” plans that never quite happen. It sits there long enough that you start building an expectation for it before you’ve even walked in.
So when I finally went, I was already halfway convinced I knew what it was going to be: a nice space, decent food, maybe something you take photos of and move on from. I was pleasantly, pleasantly mistaken.
Location, Location, Location

Whenever I check out a new place, I make sure to note the interior and exterior. Is it accessible? Is it comfortable, aptly decorated, and does the price range justify the feel of the place? In this economy, I think we’ve earned the right to be picky.
The thing is, though, Floury is such a great place because it’s beautifully decorated, it’s solo date friendly, it’s family-meal friendly, and it offers options. They have an al fresco dining area for when it isn’t too hot out, and couch seats for bigger groups.
Upon entering, a matcha wall greets you and you immediately think about ordering one. The vibe is bistro, cafe, and maybe a dash of listening room.
What We Ordered

After months and months of checking Floury’s socials, hearing about the restaurant from friends, and hearing from their staff, we ordered their bestsellers. We had:
- Steak Fried Rice
- Four Cheese Foccacia Pizza
- Pomodoro Pasta
- Dubai Pistachio Lava Cake
- Black Sesame Matcha Latte
- Ube Matcha Latte
I honestly would go back for the Steak Fried Rice alone. The meat was tender, the rice was balanced and flavorful. The Four Cheese Foccacia is absolutely notable. They make their focaccia in-house and it was perfect paired with their chili oil and truffle honey. Absolutely indulgent and delicious.
The Dubai Pistachio Lava Cake is their take on the viral trend paired with their signature dessert. This dessert was incredibly sinful. Crunchy pistachio and kataifi on top of a dense lava cake oozing with more pistachio and chocolate ganache once you slice it. It’s rich, indulgent, and something you’d definitely share.

One of the things that have happened fairly recently in Davao is the very spoken rise of the matcha drinks all over the city. There’s this viral thing on Tiktok that Davao Matcha surpasses all other cities in the PH when it comes to matcha and while I don’t consider myself an authority to judge that exactly, I totally understand why the sentiment exists.
The two matcha drinks we tried at Floury were surprisingly balanced. I only say surprising because you wouldn’t really expect much for restaurant matcha. These two drinks were easy to drink, not overpowering, and something I’d actually order again.
Floury Visit, anyone?

What I appreciated most about Floury is how cohesive everything felt. The space doesn’t try too hard, the food isn’t flashy nor boring, and the menu feels curated but is still approachable. Serving size was also okay for its price point. It feels like somewhere you can come back to without overthinking it.
Floury works for every occasion: a solo date, meeting friends for brunch, a late afternoon snack, a matcha date, a meal with the family after Sunday mass, or even an intimate date. The ambiance carries it without needing to do much.
If you’ve been meaning to try Floury and just haven’t gotten around to it yet, go. It’s definitely something to try with friends, or even alone.

They’re open daily from 10 AM to PM and they’re located at the 2nd floor of the Brivado Centro building at Cor Jose Palma Gil & Padre Gomez St., Poblacion District, Davao City.
