Quarantine Cooking: Lil’ Orbits Knock-Off Doughnuts

Quarantreat: Lil’ Orbits Knock-Off Doughnuts 🍩

I’ve always liked Lil’ Orbits doughnuts and been craving them since they’ve left Davao. 🙃

I saw a recipe yesterday & knew I had to try them & it’s so easy to make! All you need is pancake mix! 🥞

Ingredients:
-Maya Hotcake mix (500g)
-Water
-Oil

Steps:
• Mix Maya Hotcake mix in a bowl with water. I estimated mine but it was roughly 1/2 cup of water.
• Make sure that the batter is thick and NOT RUNNY. (If u do, u can make funnel cakes nalang, it’s fun too. Or add flour to the mix.)
• Heat oil in pan.
• While waiting for the oil to heat, put batter in a piping bag. I didn’t have a piping bag on-hand so I used a ziplock bag instead. Tie up the end with the least amount of batter and cut the tip of your make-shift piping bag. Make sure it’s big enough for the batter to make your ideal doughnut.
• When the oil is hot, make a doughnut shape using the piping bag. Don’t freak out, it won’t splash. 😅😂

•Strain the cooked doughnuts and sprinkle desired coating/topping. I chose to mix brown sugar with cinnamon and kind of dipped them in there.

• Take pretty bowl/plate and take a photo of creation. The end! ✨

I also made an IGTV video about the process here!
