If you flew in or out of Davao last year, chances are you were on a Cebu Pacific flight—because they just hit over 2.5 million passengers through Davao International Airport in 2024! That’s a 22% jump from the previous year, and honestly, it’s not even surprising given how much the airline has been ramping up its routes and seat sales in the last year.

More Flights, More Seats, More Destinations

CEB has been steadily increasing flights in and out of Davao, and the numbers prove it. Just last month, January 2025, the airline operated over 1,600 flights—a 44% jump from 1,100+ flights in January 2024. Seat capacity also saw a 76% increase, climbing from 190,000 seats in January 2024 to 334,000 seats this year.

With this growth, CEB now operates 14 routes to and from Davao, connecting Mindanao to more destinations across the Philippines and beyond.

A Memorable Evening at Omertà Bistro & Lounge

We were invited to CEB’s media briefing on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Omertà Bistro & Lounge in Davao City. The evening was a blend of updates and fun interactions.

Cebu Pacific President Alexander Lao welcomed us with heartfelt remarks, setting a warm tone for the night. Following him, Chief Marketing & Customer Experience Officer Candice Iyog shared CEB’s milestones and emphasized CEB’s dedication to enhancing every Juan’s travel experiences.

A special highlight was meeting Ryniel Pineda, the viral TikTok sensation known as the “dancing security guard” who we didn’t know was from Davao. Introduced by Corporate Communications Director Carmina Romero, Ryniel’s TikTok journey has been inspiring, and it was fun to meet him in person.

The night wasn’t all formalities. We indulged in fun games like Family Feud, where my team, the Davao Digital Creators, won! It was also a great opportunity to catch up with fellow content creators and influencers.
