When you think Parokya ni Edgar, you think quirky humor, catchy melodies, and lyrics that stick with you. Now, imagine all of that wrapped up in a full-blown musical. Sounds like a fun ride, right?

That’s exactly what Buruguduystunstugudunstuy: The Parokya Ni Edgar Musical brings to life. We had the chance to catch the Gala Night (big thanks to Cebu Pacific for flying us out from Davao!) at the Newport Performing Arts Theater, and let me just say—what a night!
The musical, inspired by Parokya’s second studio album, was everything you’d expect from the band: quirky, clever, and full of Filipino flavor. Following the success of “Ang Huling El Bimbo,” Newport World Resorts had some big shoes to fill, and they didn’t disappoint.

The story? It’s about four women who get pulled into this crazy Parokya-inspired world, discovering their inner strength along the way. It’s mysterious, it’s funny, and it’s uniquely Pinoy. Think Alice in Wonderland meets Beetlejuice but with the Parokya humor we all love.
Let’s talk production. The stage? Stunning. The costumes? A vibe. The choreography? On point. You can tell they went all out—Newport World Resorts really invested in making this a visual and musical treat. Plus, the cast and crew’s dedication shined through every scene.
The Gala Night energy was unmatched, with all six members of Parokya ni Edgar in the audience. Seeing Chito Miranda’s reaction to their songs coming alive on stage was such a cool moment. Oh, and did I mention the show was sold out? Yup, people are loving it.

If you’re planning to catch the show, here’s a tip: check out Newport World Resorts’ Watch & Dine packages. Imagine enjoying a fancy dinner at Sheraton Manila Hotel before heading straight to the theater. Sounds like the perfect night, right?
Buruguduystunstugudunstuy is running for a limited time, so don’t miss your chance to experience the Parokyaverse in all its chaotic, nostalgic glory.
