I think everyone agrees that cancer sucks. It’s such a horribly smart disease that eats away your insides. It’s the ultimate betrayal of having your own cells destroy you. As someone who comes from the medical field, I’ve seen how devastating this disease is for both the patient and their loved ones. Sometimes, the cancer is devastating enough that treatment is the one that ultimately ends a patient’s life. The courses of treatment can vary from case to case but the truth is that each dose of chemo or radiation can diminish a person’s immune system or leave the patient even more exhausted.

That said, treatment can be scary. It’s something every cancer patient has to face at a certain point: proceed with the course of treatment, knowing it can be taxing to their body, find alternative ways of treatment, or accept their fate. Of course, this also depends on the staging of cancer.
