Trying Out Shaxian Snacks in Davao

Shaxian Snacks has been in Davao for since 2019 and yet it’s only now that we were able to try their delicious dishes.

We visited Shaxian Snacks amidst its lunch rush and it was relatively packed. We took a booth in the far end of the restaurant. The place was decorated lightly and its menu was pretty straightforward. The place is self-service and there was a designated spot to get utensils, disposable chopsticks, and extra plates.

We checked their menu and decided to order the ff: Sauerkraut Pork Noodle Soup, Braised Beef, Fried Dumplings, & Yangzhou Fried Rice. The service was pretty fast— we received our order after about 10-15 minutes. We paired our orders with bottles of 7up.

I particularly enjoyed the fried dumplings and the braised beef— so good! The crunchy dumplings also paired well with their overloaded Yangzhou Fried Rice. The Noodles were great, too. Not too chewy and not too soft, either. I liked the broth but I think it could’ve used a little bit more flavor. Overall, I’d love to go back and explore their other menu items.

The price range was pretty reasonable, too. The entire meal we had set us back about Php 600-700.00 and we were pretty full afterwards. The Fried Rice was Php 120, Fried Dumplings were also Php 120. The Braised Beef was the most expensive thing we ordered and was priced around Php 300. However, it was pretty worth it as the beef was tender and very flavorful. The Noodle Soup was about Php 150, I think.

Shaxian Snacks is located in Sta. Ana Cor Suazo St. in Davao City. Here is their Facebook and Instagram page.
