I’ve been thinking about getting insurance for a while now but there are numerous questions that always come up: how do I know that it’s good insurance? How do I choose my insurance? How much money should I be spending on insurance? How do I even get insurance?
These questions are in my adulting FAQs. It goes with my questions about credit scores, being financially independent, and loans. When I first learned about the processes on how to get insurance, it kind of seemed a bit daunting. There are a lot of big words and processes that I didn’t really understand. There’s also the fact that usually the word insurance is often associated with selling and most of the older adults I know don’t really care for it or even avoid it altogether.
After doing my fair share of research, I learned a bit about insurance and what it entailed. However, I always seem to sort of brush it off but it has been something I’ve been thinking about getting.
When I first heard about FWD’s KanDüü plans, I thought about how easy it all seemed. For a measly Php 1,799.00, you’re insured for a year with additional rewards. For a newly minted adult like me, these plans seemed appealing. If you divide it by 12, you’d be spending a mere Php 149.91 per month for these plans— talk about affordable!

Upon opening the website, you’re immediately greeted with the steps on how to acquire the KanDüü Plans. As you can see, it promises that it can be purchased in minutes, there wouldn’t be any medical or any paperwork, and promises partner rewards. In addition, you can manage anything related to your policy on their FWD Tapp. It’s all easy! In this era of quick taps and clicks, these types of products are definitely something that appeal to the fast-paced millennial lifestyle.

There are three variants of the Kandüü Plans:
- KanMend Plan

The policy can also cover Php 100,000 worth of medical treatments for only Php 1,799.00 annually. Clients also received 6 months’ worth of KonsultaMD’s telemedicine access as a reward.
- KanLive Plan
The KanLive Plan is a life insurance plan that offers a cash benefit of up to Php 200,000. There is also a reward of unlimited medical consults at Aventus Clinics nationwide. Because life is uncertain, plans like the KanLive plan ensure that the people we may leave behind (knock on wood) can still be supported.
- KanGuard Plan
The KanGuard Plan is an accidental insurance plan that offers up to Php 500,000 cash benefit in case of accidental death or permanent disability due to a terror attack. With life’s unexpected twists and turns, it’s truly better to be safe than sorry. KanGuard also offers a year’s worth of Assist America’s global emergency services as a reward.
I chose the KanMend Plan because it seemed most appealing to me. Since I work in the medical field, I am privy to the many illnesses everyone may face. These illnesses are illnesses I’ve studied and I know that a plan like this can help in times of unforeseen diagnoses.

The first thing I did was to go to the FWD Website, and clicked “Shop@FWD“. Afterwhich, I chose my KanMend plan. I clicked “buy now” and entered my information.
After filling out my information, I was brought to a page where I had to put in my payment details. The thing I appreciated with FWD’s KanDüü Plans were that I didn’t have to hassle myself into going to any Bayad Center or even go to their branches. I simply put in my Paymaya account details and was immediately granted the policy. I even received cashback from using Paymaya!
Did I mention I did all this on my phone? Because I did! All of it was hassle-free and incredibly easy-peasy!
Overall, the entire experience was incredibly hassle-free, fast and affordable. I highly recommend FWD’s KanDüü Plans to anyone who’s been thinking about getting insured and is intimidated by all the details— or anyone* in general!
