I still think the Good Food Co. needs to consider changing their name… jk! If you’ve been following my blog, you’d know that I previously featured The Good Food Co., stating my thoughts about their food. Consider this a follow-up. (Spoiler alert: They still need to change it to The Great Food Co. or something, btw. )
Part of the Davao Food Crawl was visiting one of my favorite restaurants in Davao: The Good Food Co. It’s located in Matina Town Square and in my opinion, one of the best places to dine in before, during, or even after drinking.

They offer variety of food that live up to their name. Being that it was the Davao Food Crawl, we went to The Good Food Co. after indulging in two restaurants beforehand. Despite this, we still devoured and enjoyed the food they served us.

The appetizers they served us were the Chicken Quesadilla and the Buffalo Chicken Wings. My family and I always order their Buffalo Chicken Wings when we go to the restaurant because their wings are pretty good. The sauce doesn’t sog up the chicken skin, which makes each bite equally crunchy and tangy. The wings are best paired with a bottle of beer, making it a great pulutan choice. The quesadilla was equally good.
They also served us their pasta dishes such as the TGFC Carbonara, Pomodoro, and Aglio E Olio. I loved the TGFC Carbonara because their sauce is equally thick and creamy and the bits of bacon just added the right savory kick.

I couldn’t really eat the Aglio e Olio because of the shrimps, but the empty dish after kind of proves that their version is also delicious. They also served TGFC Caesar Salad, the Cream of Mushroom Soup, and their Chips.

The main dishes they served were their Braised Pork Ribs and Seafood Garlic Fricasee. The Braised Pork Ribs were tender and tasty, and a close second to my mum’s baby back ribs. One thing I’ve always liked about The Good Food Co. is how their dishes always taste good and hearty. The cost of their dishes make so much sense because the serving and the taste give it justice, and that’s what makes it sulit.

Their desserts are, just like everything else on their menu, awesome. They served us their homemade vanilla ice cream and their Mango & Graham Crepe. The Vanilla Ice Cream was awesome because it was creamy. It reminded me of this dessert my lola made me when I was little. Their ice cream doesn’t melt fast and somehow in my book, that makes it more indulgent.
The Mango & Graham Crepe was A-M-A-Z-ING. Amazing. It was one of the dishes that was served first so it kind of got melted but it was soooooo goood. You know how everyone seems to obsess over mango float lately? This is a solid alternative if you want something a little different. The crepe just makes everything 10x better. The mangoes and the cream were awesome. I honestly can’t put my love for this dish into words and that’s a definite good review, tbh.

Overall, I still think The Good Food Co. needs to change their name. One of the good things that has happened in the past year has been their take-over of Blah, Blah, Blah in Torres St. This makes their great food available for people in the downtown area and northerners like me.
