As mentioned in my previous blog post, the second weekend of #DavaoFoodCrawl was an eventful one. The second restaurant I was able to visit with #TeamDDI was Yellow Hauz. The cafe has been one of the surviving home-grown cafes in Davao. In fact, they recently celebrated their 12-year anniversary last Friday, March 22, 2019.
Over the years, Yellow Hauz has been known as a little hideout when you need to focus on work or need some alone time. Recently renovated, the new Yellow Hauz embodies their statement, “Home is where the coffee is…”. The big windows really let the light in and make the place feel welcoming.

They served us three dishes: the Tuna & Garlic pasta (Php 150.00), the Egg Mayo Sandwich (Php 110.00) and their Spicy Sardine Pizza (150.00). I honestly think that their prices are cheap considering that they have big servings.
The Tuna & Garlic pasta was a definite favorite. I am a pasta girl through and through and the simplicity of the pasta and the tuna just makes so much sense to me. It was supposed to be a tasting but I found myself getting 2nd servings. The Spicy Sardine pizza was tangy and filling while the Egg Mayo Sandwich was the perfect snack.
Aside from the tasty dishes presented, we were also lucky enough to taste 3 desserts: the mudpie, the nutella bar, and the tiramisu.

As expected, the desserts were awesome. I personally liked the mudpie best. The nutty cheesecake top layer was indulgent. The Nutella bar was also notable but I had to cut down on the sugar so I limited my taste. The tiramisu was soft and fluffy and the coffee didn’t overpower the creme on top. I like their desserts because they aren’t too sweet.
One of the renovations at Yellow Hauz was their new function room. It can accomodate up to 20 people and rates begin at Php 2,500.00 per 3 hours. The rate is also consummable.
