The second weekend of the #DavaoFoodCrawl was an eventful one. We took on 7 restaurants and while it was a definite feast, it has made for an interesting way to focus on each dish served.

Last Saturday night, we went to Chicken and Chops. Relatively newly opened, the restaurant has a millennial vibe to it. It aims to serve excellent friend food to family and friends. The walls were decorated with doodles of food and colored frames, the counter displayed a rustic mason glass jar for juice, and the specials menu was written on a board.
Inspired by the thought of creating a chill restaurant that serves the usual comfort food, the restaurant boasts of their fried chicken and pork chops. They serve it with gravy or glaze of the customer’s choice. At the side of these comfort dishes, are fries, rice and coleslaw.
That night, we were served with three dishes: the macaroni and cheese, the chicken wings and the pork chops.

Being a self-proclaimed macaroni & cheese connoisseur, I found the mac and cheese pretty okay. It was salty and pepper-y, which I kind of appreciate. The chicken’s batter was crunchy and the meat was a good ratio of juicy and tasty. In totality, Chicken & Chops delivers what they promise: to serve great fried food.
