Davao is a growing metropolis. The rate of its progression in the last 5 years is astounding. That being said, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the local art scene has become modern as well. Organized by none other than Davao Graphic Designers Community, Art Attack 6 was a night filled with art and camaraderie. The event took place in an art hub of its own, Morning Light, in Quirino. The minute I signed up on the registration sheet, I was immediately met with art by the local artists. They gave out stickers, one of which displayed “DGDC” in Baybayin (the Tagalog Alphabet). I loved how local the event felt. It felt uniquely Davao, even whilst the event theme was popular culture.

I came to the event a little bit early and was able to help out with setting up some of the art. It was so fun! I loved looking at each piece and all of it made me want to paint better. Here’s the arrangement Janina and I helped make:
