The 100 Day Project

If you’re a lazy person like myself, you’d probably know the struggle of maintaining a hobby, let alone any form of  daily activity. (This blog is proof of that.)

The 100 Day Project is a movement by Elle Luna and it celebrates the art of making. They let you sign up for a newsletter and you get regular notes of encouragement. After signing up, you have to decide what you’re going to create. Whilst doing this, you get to choose your own hashtag: #100Daysof_____________________. I chose #100DaysofCreativeChoices because I couldn’t choose a specific task I’d do daily.  The idea of the 100 Day Project is to encourage individuals to pursue their art. “It isn’t about fetishizing finished products— it’s about the process.”

The great thing about the 100 Day Project is the idea that you can begin anytime. You can even do it for basically everything. You can do it for fitness, for cooking, for painting, etc… and it works!

It’s Day 16 today and I still have to finish my work but you can see my other creations on instagram. My 100 Day Project is pretty vague but there are a ton of other artists who create specific content that are just amazing.

Here are a couple of artists you should definitely check out:

  1. @maaariana______does , who celebrates #100DaysofWomenCreators.
  2. @100daysoficons , who creates the cutest icons
  3. @100daysofself , who creates daily self-portraits
  4. @100daysofadulting , who celebrates the struggle of being an adult
  5. @100daysoflyricalnaturalsciences , who creates content based off of lyrics (it’s amazing!!!!!!!)

I would recommend The 100 Day Project to anyone who wants to get their creative juices flowing. Yes, it gets exhausting at times and you get to a point where you don’t even know what to create anymore but finishing something is absolutely rewarding!
