My Photo Wall

My Photo Wall

I’ve always liked the idea of a polaroid camera. Aside from their aesthetic value, instant photographs are amazing because there’s something about literally capturing a moment and seeing the photograph instantly.

I received my first Instax Mini8 from Fujifilm June last year. It was pretty hard to master it and I’m still learning to but once I got the hang of the basics, I couldn’t stop using it. (I may have wasted two packs on trial and error haha)

Anyway, being the sentimental person that I am, I made a mini-gallery in my room. I reserved one column for my Instax photos and so far I have no regrets. The only drawback of instant photographs is the cost of the film. A pack of 10 costs about Php 360. That’s 36 pesos for a photo, and if you’re a newbie, you’d probably lose half the pack to overexposure and underexposure.

Here are the photos I have in my mini-gallery:

And put together, this is what the wall looks like:

I highly suggest making your own photo wall if you’re sentimental, have the patience to learn the basics of an instax, and if you have extra cash (because the film is expensive!). Regardless, it’s all worth it. Seeing your memories on display definitely makes up for the effort you’d be putting into it. An Instax Mini8 today costs Php 3,699.00 and comes in 7 colors: Raspberry, Grape, White, Pink, Blue, Yellow, and Black.
